Corowa Parts Interpreter Brett Arnold and Branch Manager Allan Turner
Farmers in the Corowa region are set to enjoy a decrease in downtime, following an announcement that O’Connors Corowa is now a fully-accredited Ryco Connector Specialist.
An Australian company, Ryco manufactures hydraulic hose and fittings found in machinery across a broad range of industries, including agriculture. According to O’Connors Corowa Branch Manager, Allan Turner, the specialist training required for accreditation has been a great opportunity for staff, to broaden their skills.
“O’Connors is proud of the capability we offer across our branch network and we have a continued focus on staff training, particularly in areas of direct benefit to customers. As part of the accreditation, O’Connors Corowa has installed a Ryco Workshop Series digital crimper capable of handling hose widths of up to two inches, and five staff members, including three apprentices, have been fully trained by Ryco,” said Allan
The capability ensures the Case IH dealer can offer customers a one-stop-shop for service and maintenance.
“Previously growers would need to call an accredited mobile unit from Albury or Wangaratta, or our technicians would send a hose away for repair,” explained Allan.
“With our new accreditation, customers can bring their damaged hose to our workshop on their way into town and collect it on their way out. Or our own technicians can remove a hose after diagnosis onsite, bring it back for repair and return it to the paddock. That quick turnaround time will be invaluable during harvest periods,” said Allan, adding that their capability is extended to all makes and models, not just Case IH machines.
Allan credits Parts Interpreter Brett Arnold and Parts Manager Geoff Curtis, with bringing the new capability into reality.
“Their tireless work means we now have the right set-up and equipment, and a robust ordering and stocking process to ensure most issues can be resolved on the spot. And for anything else, we can get fittings overnight.
“Hydraulics are crucial to a machine’s operation and we’re confident we can now solve hose issues quickly and safely,” concludes Allan.
