During the growth and adoption phase of guidance use in agricultural systems, O’Connors funded the establishment of the largest RTK network in the Southern Hemisphere. Our team – and our customers – led the way in precision farming, meaning we now offer over 140 towers and a dedicated support team to meet your requirements.
Precision farming using GPS guidance to control equipment was a significant advancement for Australian agriculture, particularly in medium-to-low rainfall areas.
After the technology breakthrough in auto-guidance, farmers began to adopt more sustainable practices such as inter-row sowing and controlled traffic farming.
Today, machinery guidance provides the skips and overlaps; saves on fuel and labor costs; assists with better seed management, fertiliser, and chemical inputs; simplifies operations; and can even add hours to the day during critical operating windows.
THE BENEFITS OF OUR 900MHZ NETWORK:
900MHz radios are unaffected by other electrical components in the machine (UHF’s, HID Lights etc)
Bases are fully surveyed, providing the security that lines won’t move, no matter what happens to the base
Ordinarily, even with strong radio signal, the fundamentals of GPS means for every kilometre a machine moves away from a base, the more the accuracy degrades. If a machine is 30km from a base, signal will repeatedly be offline. To address this, our RTK network has been designed so bases are never more than 15km away for customers operating within our coverage area. This means our signal delivers an accuracy no more than 2.5cm away.
Sigma 2 is the highest accuracy available on the market. Other Sigma 1 networks in the area operate at 2.5cm just 68.3% of the time and will often be at more than 10cm even when very close to a base
Access to our entire network of 147 towers within NSW and Victoria
Our bases are unlocked for GLONASS. This means we can receive GPS from more satellites than any other network, almost eliminating dropouts for GLONASS-enabled systems.
