iHSD – Integrated Harrington Seed Destructor
DESTROY WEEDS WHILE YOU HARVEST
No Burning, No Tilling, No Additional Labour.
O’Connors is proud to be a distributor of the iHSD in Victoria – the integrated Harrington Seed Destructor is now available.
Ray Harrington, a Western Australian farmer, is the inventor of the Harrington Seed Destructor. The evolution of the HSD is the integrated version which is mounted onto a combine harvester. Harrington spent over 20 years in developing methods to control and manage weed seeds.
Two hydraulic driven cage mills at the rear of the combine destroy up to 99% of targeted weed seeds as you harvest (AHRI/UNI SA). The weed seeds are severely impacted until they cannot be fertile anymore. This happens while you harvest in one pass, so no burning is required afterwards. This method reduces herbicide resistant weeds significantly
“All of our research is showing that this is the way to help keep weeds at low numbers”
Steve Powles, AHRI Director
“The business is much better off coming into the seeding period with the iHSD”
Trent & Warrick Brown, Nyabing
“Anything that enters those mills is smashed and completley destroyed”
Roger Newman, Cuballing
